Washington announces rerouting of 8 ships as part of naval blockade on Iran
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced last Tuesday evening that it continues to enforce the naval blockade on Iran, confirming that US forces diverted the course of 8 commercial ships and disabled another vessel until July 21, as part of its measures to ensure full implementation of the blockade imposed on Iranian ports.
The command said in a statement that 'every operational success in the Middle East begins and ends with the efforts of military service members who continue to focus on executing their missions,' praising the role of forces involved in monitoring maritime traffic and enforcing restrictions on Iran.
The US Central Command added that the recent measures included diverting the course of eight commercial ships and preventing another vessel from continuing its journey, in a step aimed at tightening control over shipping movements linked to Iran, as part of ongoing US operations in the region.
