Riyadh, 06 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to July 20, 2026, SPA - The National Center for Palms and Dates announced the launch of seasonal date markets in various regions of the Kingdom under the slogan "Our Dates Seasons"; showcasing the finest Saudi dates, and bringing together farmers, marketers, and buyers through the seasonal markets platform launched by the Center to regulate and govern sales and purchases and improve market efficiency, in cooperation with a number of relevant government entities. It explained that "Our Dates Seasons" includes a number of date markets in various regions of the Kingdom, including: Atiqah Date Season, Buraidah Date Carnival, Onaizah International Date Season, Madinah Date Season, Jeddah Date Season, and Al-Ahsa Date Harvest Season; reflecting the diversity of seasons in different areas and highlighting the quality and variety of Saudi dates. The Center stated that the seasons aim to strengthen the link between dates and cultural and social heritage as a symbol of Saudi generosity and hospitality, and contribute to achieving high economic returns for farmers, marketers, and buyers. It indicated that the seasons include marketing and agricultural activities accompanying the date markets. These diverse programs and activities target visitors, traders, and foreign importers, and through them, the finest Saudi date varieties are displayed and traded to enhance their economic value and social status. It clarified that the seasonal markets platform, launched by the Center in 2023, is an electronic system to regulate date trading operations and document transactions between farmers, marketers, and buyers; preserving the rights of all parties, enhancing transparency and reliability, and improving the efficiency of procedures in seasonal markets. The platform enables electronic documentation of contracts and agreements, provides accurate data on quantities, prices, and types of dates, and supports decision-making for beneficiaries. Registration on the platform is a prerequisite for conducting sales operations in the covered markets.
