Asset income grows with Bank Albilad's profits by about 3.4% during the second quarter

Bank Albilad's net profit rose during the first quarter of this year by about 3.4% year-on-year to 792 million riyals, compared to 766 million riyals in the same quarter last year.
Bank Albilad explained in a statement on Tadawul today, Monday, that net income rose due to a 5% increase in total operating income, attributed to an increase in net income from investment and financing assets and other operating income, offset by a decrease in net fee and commission income, net gains from fair value through profit or loss instruments, foreign currency exchange gains, and dividend income.

On the other hand, total operating expenses increased by 6%, due to an increase in other general and administrative expenses, salaries and similar expenses, net credit loss allowance, and depreciation and amortization expenses.
The bank stated that total operating expenses rose by 10%, due to an increase in other general and administrative expenses, salaries and similar expenses, net expected credit loss allowance charged, and depreciation and amortization expenses.
He pointed out that net special commission income from financing rose 8.5% to 911 million riyals, and net special commission income from investments increased 7% to 361 million riyals, supported by a 15% increase in income from investment and financing assets, offset by a 23% increase in returns on deposits and financial liabilities.
Bank Albilad, founded in 2004, provides integrated financing and investment banking services through various Islamic instruments. Its market value today is 36 billion riyals, and Mohammed Al-Subaie Company owns the largest stake in the bank's capital at 19.3%.
