In response to farmers' demands: Official date approved for date market in Al-Aflaj
استجابة لطلبات المزارعين، حددت محافظة الأفلاج مواعيد رسمية لحراج التمور في سوق الخضار لتنظيم عمليات البيع والشراء ودعم الاستثمار الزراعي.
Al-Aflaj Governorate has set an official daily time for the date market at the vegetable market, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM, in response to farmers' requests, a step aimed at organizing the market, facilitating sales and purchases, and enhancing the investment environment for the agricultural sector in the governorate.
This decision came after the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Aflaj Development Association, Mardi Al-Habshan, and the local council member, Ghanem bin Hamad Al-Dosari, presented a study to the Governor of Al-Aflaj, Dr. Ahmed Al-Alam, which addressed the most prominent difficulties and challenges facing farmers, and included a proposal to set an official time for the date market to help organize the market and facilitate its commercial activity.
The Governor of Al-Aflaj directed that farmers' demands be met immediately upon reviewing the study, emphasizing the importance of organizing the market according to a clear time frame that raises market efficiency, achieves sustainability, and enhances investment opportunities in the agricultural sector.
The study confirmed that adherence to the official market times contributes to organizing commercial activity within the market, and recommended continuing work on preparing an integrated plan to market and introduce the products of Al-Aflaj farmers, and highlighting the official market times to enable investors and traders to know the display timings and enhance marketing opportunities for agricultural products.
In the same context, the Director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture office in Al-Aflaj Governorate, Engineer Abdullah Asiri, directed that the date market be held according to the specified time frame, from nine o'clock in the morning until half past eleven, to achieve organization and discipline within the market.
In support of farmers and market visitors, the Al-Aflaj Development Association announced the provision of support services including a tent equipped with water and Saudi coffee, to create a suitable environment for farmers and shoppers throughout the market period.
