Lufthansa to resume flights to the Gulf starting September
German airline Lufthansa announced on Thursday that the group will gradually resume its flights to the Gulf, particularly to Riyadh and Amman, starting September.
According to Reuters, Lufthansa said it continuously monitors and assesses the situation in the Middle East and remains in close contact with authorities.
Airlines have suspended flights to areas in the Middle East due to the war that broke out when the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran at the end of February.
The company will first resume flights to the Saudi capital Riyadh starting September 10, operating three flights per week from Frankfurt.
From September 15, Italian airline ITA Airways, part of the Lufthansa Group, will resume flights from Rome to Riyadh five times a week.
Austrian Airlines will again operate three flights per week from Vienna to the Jordanian capital Amman, starting October 2.
