The camel racetrack in Taif Governorate will witness on Saturday the final of the Al-Mafareed race, organized by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, with total prizes exceeding 2.5 million riyals, distributed over 156 rounds held over 3 stages, at the opening of the 2026-2027 camel racing season.

The final day includes 24 rounds, all held over a distance of two kilometers, including 4 cup rounds, comprising two rounds dedicated to Saudi production, a category newly introduced by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation this season to support Saudi camel owners, while these rounds are sponsored by businessman Obaid bin Salman Al-Dosari.

660 camel mounts reach the final

The first stage of the tournament began on June 13 at the camel racetrack in Taif, featuring 66 rounds over 1500 meters for the Al-Mafareed category (Bakar, Qa'dan, and Bakar Aam), before the second stage on June 27 hosted the same number of rounds over the same distance.

The two stages resulted in 660 camel mounts qualifying for the final, out of 3,398 mounts that participated in the competitions, leading to the crowning of the champions of the season's first tournaments.
