The US administration announced reaching a mutual trade agreement with Jordan, confirming that the agreement will expand market access opportunities for American exporters.

The White House stated in a statement on Tuesday that the mutual trade agreement between the United States and Jordan will help reduce trade barriers that American exporters have faced for a long time, and will provide new market access opportunities for vital American sectors.

The statement explained that the agreement aims to enhance peace, increase regional cooperation, and develop supply chain resilience and innovation, through commitments to cooperate in confronting non-market policies pursued by third countries, ensuring investment security, implementing export controls, and preventing tariff evasion.

It pointed out that the agreement will contribute to building a future based on peace, prosperity, and investment in the region, noting that Jordan has made historic commitments that will benefit American manufacturers, farmers, livestock breeders, and other producers.

The White House affirmed that under the agreement, Jordan will continue to provide tariff-free access to its market for nearly all goods exported from the United States.

The statement also clarified that Jordan committed to enhancing trade with the United States by enforcing environmental laws, protecting workers' rights, including banning imports of goods produced by forced labor, strengthening intellectual property rights, ensuring fair trade practices, and improving customs procedures.

It added that Jordan will remove non-tariff trade barriers to American products, including agricultural products and motor vehicles, and will expand market access opportunities for these products in the Jordanian market.

The statement indicated that the United States and Jordan will take comprehensive steps to confront non-market policies pursued by third countries, and will cooperate in the areas of investment security, export controls, and preventing tariff evasion, with the aim of enhancing supply chain resilience and supporting innovation.
