(CNN) -- Following the American Super Bowl style, the World Cup final hosted the first musical performance in the tournament's history during the halftime break at the New York–New Jersey stadium in the United States, as the interval between the Spain-Argentina match turned into a musical show, with Colombian artist Shakira performing the tournament's official anthem.

After the modern suit at the opening ceremony, Shakira wore a custom-designed look from Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli under the direction of creative director Fausto Puglisi, adorned with Swarovski crystals, according to the house's official Instagram page.

The look consisted of two pieces featuring the 'Sunray' pattern, developed especially for the global pop star in colors inspired by the sunset glow, with vibrant pink touches, drawing inspiration from the fashion house's iconic 'Ray of Gold' pattern.

The look included a bodysuit with a deep crossed neckline and side slits, with a skirt designed using the 'moulage' technique, adorned with embroidered satin chiffon ribbons, flowing fluidly with Shakira's movements on stage.

The bodysuit was entirely hand-embroidered with over 200,000 Swarovski crystals, taking more than 120 hours of embroidery, along with two weeks of meticulous craftsmanship, giving the look a glowing gradient of pink, orange, and citrine tones.
