The Children's Book Club at King Abdulaziz Public Library has launched a new service titled "Enriching Libraries and Learning Centers with Books," aimed at supporting nurseries, schools, and educational centers with selected book collections to enhance stimulating learning environments and foster a culture of reading among children and adolescents across all age groups.

The service offers diverse reading sets carefully chosen to suit nurseries and kindergartens, as well as primary, intermediate, and secondary levels, with a focus on content quality, age appropriateness, and enrichment of cognitive and cultural aspects.

Ms. Sundus Al-Sharif, Director General of the Child Department, explained that the launch of this service is an extension of the Children's Book Club's role in spreading knowledge, fostering a reading culture, and strengthening the presence of books in educational environments, thereby contributing to the development of children's and adolescents' skills and motivating them to learn and discover.

Precise Educational Standards and Ongoing Initiatives

Al-Sharif added that the service relies on selecting books according to precise educational and cultural standards to ensure the provision of quality content that meets the needs of each age group, helping educational institutions provide an attractive reading environment that supports the educational process and contributes to building the child's personality and developing their intellectual and linguistic skills.

She indicated that this initiative is part of a series of programs implemented by the General Child Department, aiming to support educational institutions, enhance community partnerships, and consolidate the book's position as an essential tool for building knowledge and shaping awareness.

Al-Sharif concluded her statement by affirming that the General Child Department continues to develop its cultural and educational initiatives in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing human capabilities, enhancing quality of life, and building a reading generation that possesses knowledge and believes in the value of continuous learning, creativity, and innovation.
