The branch of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Eastern Province handled 60,674 emergency cases during the first half of 2026, amid official calls for the public to clear roads and avoid crowding to reduce response time and facilitate saving lives.

The official statistics of the Medical Dispatch and Emergency Operations Center in the region revealed receiving 201,402 calls during the same period. These calls varied between general inquiries and emergency reports, with 75,112 reports requiring urgent ambulance services.

The authority detailed the field response, noting that medical care was provided and 39,250 cases were transported to hospitals for further treatment. In contrast, 21,424 cases received the necessary care at the scene without needing transport, based on the medical assessment of the specialized teams.

The "As'ifni" application for smart devices recorded 2,017 ambulance reports during the first half of this year. The authority confirmed that its qualified medical personnel handled all reports professionally, relying on advanced technologies and equipment within its ambulance fleet. The emergency services warned against practices that hinder their field work, reiterating their call for citizens and residents to facilitate the teams' tasks. They stressed the importance of requesting service in emergencies via the number 997 or the electronic application to speed up access and reduce human losses.
