A team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons at King Faisal Hospital, part of the Taif Health Cluster, successfully removed a pleomorphic adenoma from the right parotid gland of a 38-year-old patient. The tumor measured (6×5×4 cm), and the surgery was performed while preserving the facial nerve in a precise procedure that lasted approximately seven hours.

The medical team explained that the case required removal of the superficial lobe of the parotid gland, as well as part of the deep lobe after the tumor had extended into it. This necessitated precise dissection to identify the facial nerve and its branches and preserve them, ensuring complete tumor removal while maintaining nerve function.

The surgery was, thank God, successful. The facial nerve was preserved, and the patient's condition stabilized after the operation without complications. He recovered well and left the hospital after completing the treatment plan in stable health.
