Livestock vaccination in 13 regions.. and 'Waqa' calls for early reporting of suspected cases
The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases 'Waqa' has continued its field campaigns for preventive vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease in the regions of the Kingdom, aiming to boost herd immunity and protect livestock wealth, calling on breeders to cooperate and immediately report suspected cases.
The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases explained that veterinary teams continue their work within a comprehensive national plan, covering the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Qassim, the Eastern Province, Hail, Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran.

The center stressed that field procedures aim to reduce the risks of disease spread and enhance early response to epidemics, indicating that these steps are part of a continuous monitoring system throughout the year to maintain the safety of animal products. Waqa issued a direct call to livestock breeders to enable technical teams to perform their tasks in vaccinating herds on site, emphasizing the importance of rapid reporting of any disease symptoms, in support of food security efforts and production sustainability in the Kingdom.
