Riyadh, Safar 05, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 19, 2026, SPA -- National Guard Health Affairs has successfully performed the first remote robotic surgery (Telesurgery) in the Kingdom, on a patient at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, using a surgical robot controlled by a medical team from King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, an achievement that embodies integration between the two surgical teams in the departments of kidney and urinary tract surgery in both cities. The surgery was performed using the KANGDUO - SageBot platform, where the surgical team in Riyadh managed the operation with high precision on a patient in Jeddah, leveraging robotic surgery techniques and advanced communication systems.
