Rare Surprise in Australia: Mother Gives Birth to Identical Quadruplets from One Egg
Australia witnessed the birth of identical quadruplets in an extremely rare case, where the mother Janita Saw conceived naturally from a single fertilized egg that split to produce four identical girls sharing one placenta.
According to doctors, the probability of such a case is estimated at one in about 15 million natural pregnancies. The babies, Emily, Harriet, Alexa and Catherine, were born by planned cesarean section at 28 weeks of pregnancy at the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital.
