Red Crescent trains 36,000 beneficiaries for emergency response in Mecca
More than 36,000 people benefited from the community training and education programs of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Mecca region during the first half of 2026, with the aim of enhancing community readiness to deal with emergency cases.
The educational sector accounted for the largest share, with the number of beneficiaries reaching 31,116 people, distributed among Jeddah with 12,763 beneficiaries, the Holy Capital with 9,253, and Taif with 9,100 beneficiaries.
Establishing first aid skills
These efforts aim to establish first aid skills and raise health awareness in schools and universities.

The authority revealed that 5,048 male and female trainees were qualified through 292 courses, with 144 courses implemented in Jeddah for 2,772 trainees, and 84 courses in the Holy Capital for 1,478 people. In Taif governorate, the ambulance teams provided 64 training courses resulting in the qualification of 798 trainees.
Community education
In the community education track, the authority organized 974 awareness lectures targeting various groups to spread a culture of rapid response to injuries.
These lectures were distributed as 420 in Jeddah governorate, 340 in the Holy Capital, and 214 in Taif governorate.
The authority affirmed its continuation in implementing its programs to build a community ready to deal with emergency cases before the arrival of medical teams, and called on everyone to acquire basic skills by proactively registering in available courses on the "Muta'ahib" electronic platform.
