Waqa Center Launches Vaccination Campaign for Pets Against Rabies in Makkah
أطلق مركز وقاء للوقاية من الأمراض الحيوانية حملة تحصين مجانية للحيوانات الأليفة ضد داء الكلب في مكة المكرمة، تشمل التوعية بطرق انتقال المرض والإجراءات الوقائية. تستهدف الحملة مالكي الحيوانات في عدة عيادات بيطرية.
The center explained that the campaign aims to raise awareness about rabies, vaccinate pets against it, in addition to educating about the methods of transmission and symptoms of the disease, and the preventive measures to be followed when exposed to animal bites or scratches.
The Waqa branch added that the campaign includes publishing awareness and educational materials through media and digital platforms, and providing educational messages targeting various segments of society to raise awareness of the disease and enhance preventive behaviors, while emphasizing the importance of reporting suspected cases and consulting the relevant health authorities when exposed to an injury that may transmit the infection.
Vaccination Locations and Working Hours
The center indicated that breeders and beneficiaries will be received at the vaccination sites from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the two 'Superpets' clinics in the Shawqiyyah and Rashidiyyah neighborhoods in Makkah, 'Floria' clinic in the Nahdah district in Jeddah, the Veterinary Care Clinic in the central area of Taif, and 'Nab' al-Wadi' clinic in Muthailif in Qunfudhah Governorate.
The center called on pet owners to take advantage of the free vaccination service and bring their animals to the approved vaccination sites.
It is noteworthy that this campaign is part of the awareness programs implemented by the Waqa Center to enhance the prevention of zoonotic diseases and support national efforts aimed at protecting human and animal health and raising health awareness among community members.
