The National Curriculum Center has approved three patterns for specialized schools, which provide educational services according to approved standards and specifications that suit the nature of each school and its specialized field, as part of the academic plans for the new academic year. The number of courses ranges from 17 to 21 per academic year, with total instructional hours ranging between 1442 and 1987 class periods. Tracks and Gifted Students. The academic plans for cultural specialized schools included tracks of music, performing arts, and visual arts in the upper grades of primary school and middle school. In the music track, upper primary students study 17 courses totaling 1985 periods annually, while students in the performing arts and visual arts tracks study 18 courses with the same number of periods. In middle school, the music track includes 17 courses totaling 1987 periods, while the performing arts and visual arts tracks include 18 courses with the same number of class periods. The academic plans also included gifted schools for advanced industries, where first-year secondary students study 21 courses totaling 1845 periods during the academic year, while technical gifted schools allocated 19 courses for first-year students, 18 courses for second-year students, and 21 courses for third-year students, with a total of 1442 class periods per year. Quality Programs. The guide clarified that schools implementing gifted programs, which aim to meet the educational needs of outstanding and innovative students, are divided into two categories: specialized schools and gifted classes, which group gifted students in separate classes to provide differentiated and multi-track education, according to scientific methods in talent care, within an educational environment that provides quality programs and educational experiences characterized by depth and diversity, and are implemented during morning school hours in schools that have a gifted teacher. The gifted classes plan includes five courses for upper primary grades and five more courses for middle school, with a total of 216 class periods per stage during the year. Creative Expression. The specialized courses in the music track include subjects such as music theory, specialized instruments, Arabic choir, motor and physical exercises, and musical and performance appreciation. The performing arts track includes courses covering exploration of the theater world, the world of puppets and creative expression, voice and theatrical delivery, rhythm and movement, in addition to Arabic choir and performance and music appreciation. The visual arts track includes courses in art history, electronic drawing, handicrafts, cartoon character drawing and design, in addition to Arabic choir, motor exercises, and creative expression. Computational Thinking. In the field of advanced industries, the courses focus on industrial basics and concepts, introduction to mechatronics and smart sensors, industrial Internet of Things and tracking, and digital manufacturing labs. Meanwhile, the technical track offers a package of advanced courses including Python programming and computational thinking, basics of cybersecurity, data structures and algorithms, electronics and embedded systems, software development, machine learning, databases, software engineering, data science, robotics, network security, distributed systems and cloud computing, generative AI and agent systems, deep learning, autonomous systems, and ethical hacking, enhancing students' readiness for future specializations and the technical labor market.
