Execution of Retributive Death Sentence Against a Citizen in Jazan Who Killed Another
أعلنت وزارة الداخلية تنفيذ حكم القتل قصاصاً في منطقة جازان بحق مواطن أدين بقتل آخر ضرباً، وذلك بعد استكمال التقاضي وصدور أمر ملكي بتنفيذ العقوبة الشرعية اليوم الخميس 2 صفر 1448هـ.
The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that the retributive death sentence was carried out on citizen Atiyah bin Tahir bin Ahmed Khormi in the Jazan Region, after he was convicted of killing Abdulrahman bin Ahmed bin Zayed Asiri, both of Saudi nationality.
The ministry stated that the offender assaulted the victim by beating him in various parts of his body, leading to his death.
The ministry added that security authorities arrested the offender, and investigations resulted in charging him with the crime. He was referred to the competent court, which issued a verdict affirming his guilt and ordering his execution by retribution.
In the same context, the ministry confirmed that the verdict became final after being upheld by the competent authorities, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was legally decided. The sentence was carried out on Thursday, corresponding to 2 Safar 1448 AH, July 16, 2026, in the Jazan Region.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior emphasized the Saudi government's commitment to maintaining security, achieving justice, and implementing Islamic Sharia penalties against anyone who attacks the peaceful, warning that legal punishment will be the fate of anyone who commits such crimes.
