A mother and four children died in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit in the village of Al-Luqiyah in Samtah Governorate, Jazan region, while the father was admitted to intensive care due to his injuries.

Mohammed Mahanshi, the uncle of the deceased children, stated in an interview with Al Arabiya that he notified the civil defense and the Red Crescent immediately after the incident, and the specialized teams began their work at the scene.

Mahanshi pointed out that the fire broke out due to an electrical connection that was overloaded, causing it to explode. He suggested that the victims were asleep at the time of the incident and no one could hear their cries for help because the door was tightly closed.

He added that rescue teams had to break the door to extinguish the fire and transport the victims and injured.
