Electronic Guidance Screens in the Grand Mosque Facilitate Movement of Visitors and Improve Crowd Management
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque operates a system of electronic guidance screens at the gates of the Grand Mosque and its external courtyards, aimed at enhancing spatial awareness for visitors to the House of God, enabling them to identify the status of gates and choose the nearest available entrances, thereby contributing to improved traffic flow and ease of access.
These screens display real-time updated data including the status of gates and available entrances, and density indicators in the circumambulation area and the area between Safa and Marwah, enabling worshippers, Umrah performers, and visitors to select the most suitable paths before entering, helping distribute movement across various entrances, reducing access time, and enhancing crowd management efficiency. The screens also show entrances leading to upper floors to optimize the use of facility capacity.
In addition to operational data, the screens provide educational and guidance content including instructions to be followed before entry, awareness of behaviors to avoid inside the Grand Mosque, as well as information on the most prominent services provided to the guests of the Most Merciful, including the service of exiting the ritual state, the digital guide, and the unified number 1966.
These screens are part of the technical and guidance services system implemented by the Presidency to utilize electronic solutions in supporting crowd management, raising operational efficiency, and improving the quality of services provided to the guests of the Most Merciful, providing a smoother and more seamless experience, and enhancing the readiness of the Grand Mosque to receive its visitors.
