The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque activated electronic guidance screens at the gates and courtyards of the Grand Mosque in Mecca to provide real-time data that contributes to crowd management and facilitates the arrival of visitors to the House of God.

The screens display continuously updated data showing the status of available gates and entrances, along with human density indicators in the areas of the circumambulation (Mataf) and the sa'i (Masa'a).

This procedure enables worshipers and Umrah performers to choose the most appropriate routes before entering, thereby distributing movement and reducing access time.

Alleviating congestion

The electronic boards show entrances leading to the upper floors, with the aim of making optimal use of the capacity of the Grand Mosque's facilities. This step enhances the smooth movement of visitors within the mosque's corridors and reduces congestion in vital areas. The guidance system contributes to enhancing spatial awareness among visitors by providing educational content including instructions to follow and behaviors to avoid. The screens also highlight the most prominent services provided, including the ritual disengagement service, the digital mutawwif (guide), in addition to the unified number '1966'.

Electronic solutions

This step comes within the technical services system implemented by the authority to benefit from electronic solutions in supporting crowd management and raising operational efficiency. These efforts aim to improve the quality of services provided to the guests of the Most Merciful and to provide an environment that supports the Grand Mosque's readiness to receive visitors.
