The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Maii) concluded its participation in the Saudi Water Week 2026 by launching the first national award specialized in water efficiency and conservation, alongside honoring 27 entities from water sustainability partners, in a step that reflects the growing national efforts to enhance water security and consolidate sustainability concepts.

The center's participation took place from June 28 to July 2 in Jeddah, affirming its active presence and pivotal role in leading qualitative initiatives aimed at improving water use efficiency, promoting a conservation culture, and expanding institutional partnerships to support achieving water sustainability targets in the Kingdom.

The events witnessed the launch of the 'Maii' Water Efficiency Award, as the first national platform dedicated to honoring excellence and innovation in water efficiency and conservation, and stimulating sustainable initiatives and practices, contributing to raising community awareness and enhancing the efficiency of water resource management.

Within the framework of enhancing integration and partnership, the center honored 27 entities from the government, private, and non-profit sectors, in appreciation of their qualitative contributions to supporting national initiatives and implementing programs with tangible impact in improving water efficiency and conservation across various development sectors.

Maii also enhanced its knowledge presence during the events through a series of dialogue sessions and specialized workshops, which covered topics of water awareness, transformation in the water sector, use efficiency, national experiences in the urban sector, in addition to empowering water efficiency service providers and showcasing environmental initiatives and institutional partnerships supporting sustainability.

The occasion also saw the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture honoring the National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Maii), in recognition of its outstanding efforts in water awareness initiatives during the Hajj season 1447 AH, and its contributions to raising water awareness among the guests of God, embodying the integration of national efforts in serving pilgrims and promoting optimal use of water resources.

The center affirmed that its participation in the Saudi Water Week 2026 represents an extension of its national role in developing innovative solutions and initiatives, and building an integrated system with government agencies, the private sector, and the non-profit sector, to support achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 towards a more efficient and sustainable water future.
