The Jeddah Municipality has notified owners of dilapidated shops and adjacent buildings in the vicinity of Al-Quozain Market of the need to evacuate within a two-month period, in preparation for their removal due to their structural unsafety, and to protect lives and property from the risk of collapse.

The head of the Southern Sub-Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Sulami, explained that the municipality has set a statutory deadline of sixty days, starting from the date of notification before the actual commencement of removal, noting that owners of adjacent buildings have been informed of all planned procedures to ensure their safety and facilitate the implementation of the field action plan at the site.

Al-Sulami stated that engineering teams had previously begun assessing the sites, with results confirming the structural unsafety of those shops, adding that the continued existence of these buildings in their current state poses a direct risk to public safety of passersby, necessitating their inclusion among the sites scheduled for removal.
