Jeddah Municipality Notifies Owners of Dilapidated Shops in Al-Qozen Market, Paving Way for Removal
The Jeddah Municipality, yesterday (Thursday), began notifying the owners of dilapidated shops and adjacent buildings in the vicinity of Al-Qozen Market, in preparation for completing legal procedures and carrying out removal works, as part of its efforts to protect lives and property and address sites that pose a threat to public safety.
The head of the Southern Sub-Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Sulami, explained that the notices set a legal deadline of two months from the date of issuance, before proceeding with removal works, while informing owners of adjacent buildings about the procedures scheduled for the site.
The municipality had begun inspecting the sites, and the results showed that the structural condition of the shops was unsafe, and their continuation in their current state posed a direct danger to public safety, necessitating their classification among the sites scheduled for removal.
The Jeddah Municipality affirmed that it will continue monitoring dilapidated buildings and sites and addressing them according to approved legal procedures, to preserve lives and property and improve the urban landscape.
