Jeddah Municipality Notifies Owners of Buildings at Risk of Collapse in 'Al-Qozain Market'
Jeddah Governorate Municipality sent notifications yesterday (Thursday) to owners of dilapidated shops and buildings at risk of collapse around Al-Qozain Market, in preparation for completing legal procedures and carrying out removal operations, as part of its efforts to protect lives and property and address sites that pose a threat to public safety.
Their continued existence in their current state poses a danger to public safety.
The municipality affirmed its continued monitoring of dilapidated buildings and sites and addressing them according to approved legal procedures, which contributes to preserving lives and property and improving the urban landscape.
For his part, the head of the Southern Sub-Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Sulami, said that the notifications granted owners a legal grace period of two months from the date of receipt, before starting demolition work, and that owners of adjacent buildings were also notified of the procedures planned for the site.
He added that the municipality inspected the sites, and the inspection results showed that their structural condition was unsafe, and that their continued existence in their current state poses a danger to public safety, which necessitated their inclusion among the sites scheduled for removal.
