Jordan condemns targeting of Saudi vessel in Red Sea, affirms full solidarity with Kingdom
أعلنت عمّان إدانتها لهجوم شنّه الحوثيون على سفينة تجارية سعودية في البحر الأحمر، وأكدت وقوفها الكامل إلى جانب الرياض. وذكرت الهيئة العامة للنقل أن الحريق الذي اندلع في مقدمة السفينة 'إنسيليا' تم التعامل معه، وجميع أفراد الطاقم سالمون.
On Thursday, Jordan announced its condemnation of the attack carried out by the Houthi militia on a Saudi vessel while it was crossing the Red Sea, considering the attack a flagrant violation of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and a threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that Jordan rejects and condemns this assault, affirming its absolute solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its full support for all steps it takes to protect its security, stability, and capabilities.

In a related development, a responsible source in the General Authority for Transport stated on Thursday that the vessel (ENCELIA), belonging to one of the Kingdom's companies, was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea, resulting in a fire breaking out at the front of the vessel.
The source explained to SPA that all crew members are safe, confirming that the relevant authorities have taken all necessary measures to secure the vessel and its crew and to protect the marine environment.
The source stressed that these targeting incidents constitute a violation of international laws and norms that ensure the safety of commercial vessels and their crews.
