The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the United States of America signed a cooperation agreement on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries, and as a completion of what was announced during the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States last November regarding the conclusion of negotiations related to this file.
The agreement was signed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, and aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and support the exchange of expertise, knowledge and technologies in accordance with the highest international standards related to nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation.
The agreement reflects the common vision of the two countries towards expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and future technologies, and supporting sustainable development, as it represents a natural extension of the existing cooperation in the energy sector, and contributes to diversifying its sources and developing advanced technologies, achieving the common interests of the two countries.
