The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Mai) launched an integrated electronic platform to provide licensing services for water efficiency and conservation activities, in a step aimed at facilitating procedures and providing digital solutions that raise the quality of services provided to beneficiaries. The platform allows issuing licenses for providers of water efficiency and conservation activities, as well as renewing, modifying, and completing procedures electronically. It also provides a service for requesting leak detection reports through a unified digital platform, saving time and effort and enhancing transaction completion efficiency. Scope of benefit: The platform aims to issue licenses for providers of water efficiency and conservation activities, and provide sustainable digital solutions, in addition to providing reliable and high-quality services, supporting digital transformation in the water sector. The electronic services target individuals, institutions, and companies, expanding the scope of benefit from licensing services and enhancing the participation of various sectors in applying water efficiency and conservation practices. Resource sustainability: The center confirmed that the platform contributes to regulating water efficiency and conservation activities, enhancing the sustainability of water resources, and improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries through integrated and easily accessible electronic procedures. Vital resource: For its part, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture called on community members, coinciding with high temperatures during the summer season and increased demand for water, to enhance awareness of the importance of preserving water and rationalizing its consumption, stating that responsible use of this vital resource contributes to preserving and developing water resources, promoting sustainable water management, and achieving water security, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The ministry explained that rationalizing water consumption is achieved by adopting many important daily behaviors that contribute to maximizing its benefit, such as repairing water leaks and reporting them immediately upon detection, using water conservation tools, which helps reduce waste, in addition to ensuring that water taps are tightly closed after use, and using modern irrigation methods, such as drip irrigation, for their role in improving water use efficiency and reducing losses.
