A recent photo bringing together Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, both smiling with each placing an arm on the other's shoulder, was enough to spark speculation about a possible improvement in relations between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi after months of tension.

However, the attention was not limited to the photo alone, but to what followed; at almost the same time, two prominent media officials from both countries published two messages, followed by a comment from the diplomatic advisor to the UAE President Anwar Gargash, who borrowed a poetic verse calling for unity.

The wave of interaction began Tuesday evening, when the head of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh, who is considered close to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, posted the photo on platform X.

Al-Sheikh said the photo was taken 'several days ago', without specifying its location or occasion, and commented: 'Saudi Arabia and the UAE are a story of brotherly relations and a solid partnership.'
