Taif Municipality Wins Creativity 2025 Award for Emergency System Application
Taif Governorate Municipality was awarded the Taif Award for Community and Volunteer Work in the Creativity Branch for 2025. The municipality's "Emergency System" application won the award, presented by His Royal Highness Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, as part of supporting creativity and innovation to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The launch of the application on smartphones comes within the framework of the municipality's efforts to accelerate response to rainy conditions and their repercussions, under the continuous support and follow-up of the Mayor of Taif, Engineer Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Zaidi. The application works to enhance the technical system for real-time monitoring of critical points during rainfall, and issuing early warnings based on the national geospatial platform, enabling field teams to move immediately and take necessary precautionary measures to contain rains and floods.
The application includes two main axes: The first is the 'Critical Points' axis, which includes proof of the official's presence, submitting reports, and following up on cases referred to the Director of Disaster Management. The second is the 'Maintenance Works' axis, which allows submitting maintenance requests, approving and processing them, and reviewing request reports. The entire operation of the application can be monitored through the central emergency room of the General Department of Emergencies and Disasters at the municipality.
The application contributes to raising the level of response to reports by activating modern technologies and managing crises and risks with high efficiency, in addition to supporting coordination with relevant authorities such as Civil Defense and the Ministry of Interior, in line with the direction of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing to harness modern technologies to support municipal work.
On the social level, the application contributes to protecting residents and vehicles from the dangers of critical sites during rainy conditions, and combating public health pests by monitoring water accumulation sites and preventing the formation of insect breeding grounds, thereby raising the level of beneficiary satisfaction. The application also provides a tangible administrative impact in terms of saving time and effort in problem-solving, facilitating monitoring and auditing tasks, and diversifying available alternatives for decision-makers.
