The National Center for Water Efficiency and Rationalization (Mai'i) announced the opening of submissions for the 'Mai'i' Water Efficiency Award, starting today, Thursday, as part of its efforts to foster a competitive environment that stimulates innovation, highlights initiatives supporting optimal resource use, and achieves water sustainability.

The center called on sectors and individuals from various target groups to visit the award's website and register within its specified tracks, as it is one of its strategic initiatives aimed at stimulating innovation, promoting excellence in water efficiency and rationalization, and establishing a culture of water sustainability across various sectors and community groups.

The award aims to raise awareness of the importance of water efficiency and rationalization, encourage outstanding practices, and honor qualitative achievements with sustainable impact.

The award includes three main tracks: the Water Efficiency and Rationalization Practices Track, the Water Rationalization Culture Dissemination Track, and the 'Mai'i' Partners Track, allowing participation from government entities, the private sector, the non-profit sector, as well as the community and individuals, according to the categories and criteria specified for each track, and in accordance with approved regulations and standards.

The center noted that winners of the 'Mai'i' Water Efficiency Award receive official recognition highlighting their contributions to water efficiency and rationalization, in addition to financial rewards for individual winners, in appreciation of their efforts in spreading water awareness and promoting conservation behaviors.

It is noteworthy that the National Center for Water Efficiency and Rationalization launched the 'Mai'i' Water Efficiency Award under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour Al-Mushaiti, during his participation in the Saudi Water Week 2026, recently held in Jeddah.
