As part of its ongoing efforts to develop vegetation cover and promote sustainable investment across all regions of the Kingdom, the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification has launched 12 investment opportunities in a number of national parks in the Asir region, as part of enhancing partnership with the private sector, supporting natural destination tourism, and contributing to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Saudi Vision 2030.
In its statement issued today, the center affirmed that these investment opportunities aim to empower the private sector and expand its participation in implementing development projects with a sustainable environmental and economic impact; with the goal of developing, protecting, and sustaining vegetation cover sites, and enhancing the efficiency of natural resource investment, achieving a balance between economic development and conservation of natural resources, promoting environmental sustainability and quality of life, as well as creating added value for local communities and supporting the national economy.
The statement explained that the investment opportunities offered in the Asir region include a variety of activities, most notably camping, caravans, and ecotourism, contributing to the development of national parks and solidifying their status as attractive natural destinations for visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom. It is noteworthy that the center is working on offering long-term investment opportunities alongside seasonal opportunities; to develop vegetation cover, support various afforestation works and projects, conserve natural resources, contribute to the development of the national economy, and create new job opportunities for citizens, in achievement of the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.
