Beekeepers in the Eastern Province revealed to Al-Youm that 50 young men and women have been trained in beekeeping and honey production skills in cooperation with the Office of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Qatif, coinciding with a call for producers to market mangrove honey to support the sector.

One umbrella

Al-Saffar pointed out that the association was established in 2023 on the initiative of 18 beekeepers, as the only cooperative entity in the region to bring beekeepers under one umbrella to exchange expertise and develop production. The Chairman of the Board invited all beekeepers to showcase their products at the new exhibition, coinciding with the current mangrove honey production season, stressing that the exhibition was primarily dedicated to empowering beekeepers and helping them market and sell their produce through an organized mechanism that supports the sustainability of this sector and serves the interests of both producers and consumers.

Marketing sales outlet

Al-Saffar said that as an extension of its efforts over the past six months, the association opened an integrated exhibition serving beekeepers through two main directions. He explained that the first direction is concerned with providing all the supplies and tools needed by beekeepers, while the second focuses on creating a marketing sales outlet that receives beekeepers' honey and displays it to consumers.

He added that the association places great importance on sorting and producing mangrove honey and sidr honey, providing specialized sorting units operating according to the highest health standards and specifications. He noted that this step aims to highlight the unique natural value of these honeys and raise their market value to ensure a pure and guaranteed quality product.

Integrated system

The association primarily aims to provide an integrated system of services for beekeepers and the community alike. It works to organize training and awareness programs to raise the efficiency of beekeepers and contribute to the production of high-quality honey that meets expectations.
