Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that his country will not start negotiations on the final agreement with the United States if threats continue, calling for adherence to what was stated in the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides.

Araghchi said in a post on platform X: 'Millions of Iranians have gathered to honor Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his legacy, and neither they nor our armed forces will be affected by any threats.' He added: 'Paragraph 13 of the memorandum of understanding is clear, stating that negotiations on the final agreement will not begin if threats continue,' concluding his message by saying: 'Respect your signature.'

Araghchi's remarks come as Washington and Tehran prepare to resume political contacts after a temporary suspension due to the funeral ceremonies of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, amid continued disagreements over a number of key issues, foremost among them the nuclear program and U.S. sanctions.

Informed sources revealed that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is scheduled to be held on July 11, to discuss the issues of sanctions, frozen Iranian assets, and the nuclear program, while the level of representation of the Iranian delegation is still linked to the completion of arrangements after Khamenei's funeral.
