The UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that a ship was struck by an unidentified projectile 8 nautical miles northwest of Kumzar in the Sultanate of Oman, stating that this resulted in the ship running aground.

The agency added that the crew safely departed and were rescued by a tugboat.

The agency earlier reported that a fire broke out on board the ship.

The agency said the fire has not yet been extinguished, but no reports of environmental damage from the incident have been received.
