Israel accuses Hezbollah of planting explosive device that killed Lebanese soldier
Israel accused Hezbollah on Saturday of planting an explosive device that earlier detonated on a Lebanese army vehicle, killing a soldier and wounding two others.
The Israeli army reported that the preliminary investigation into the explosion of an explosive device on a Lebanese army vehicle in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the death of one soldier and injury of two others, concluded that the device 'does not belong to the Israeli army,' and suggested that Hezbollah may have planted it.
The Israeli army added that the incident occurred in the Mansouri area, within the security zone in southern Lebanon, noting that its forces 'have not been present in this area at all in recent times.'
It pointed out that the Lebanese army vehicle entered the security zone 'without prior coordination with the Israeli army, contrary to what the existing coordination system requires.'
The Israeli army called on civilians and forces in the area to avoid accessing areas where it said 'Hezbollah still poses a threat,' and to coordinate movements in advance, according to established procedures.
