The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended a Saudi national for violating the environmental system by entering the protected meadows and wild gardens in the Asir region with his vehicle, and legal measures were taken against him.

The forces explained that the penalty for vehicles entering protected meadows and wild gardens amounts to 2,000 riyals.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have also apprehended three residents violating the environmental system, of Indian, Pakistani, and Yemeni nationalities, for exploiting sediments in the Eastern Region, and legal measures were taken against them. The Special Forces for Environmental Security have apprehended a Saudi national for violating the environmental system by failing to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation cover, as he lit a fire in unauthorized locations within the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. Legal measures were taken against him. The forces stressed that the penalty for lighting fires in unauthorized locations in forests and national parks is a fine of up to 3,000 riyals.

Reporting Violations

The forces urged reporting any cases of aggression against the environment or wildlife by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter.
