Customs Ports Record 1,131 Seizures in a Week
Land, sea, and air customs ports recorded 1,131 seizures of prohibited items, as part of the ongoing efforts by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to enhance security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited goods.
The seized items included 118 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, Captagon pills, and others, in addition to 402 prohibited substances.
The customs ports also foiled 2,478 items of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 25 items of monetary amounts, and 9 items of weapons and their accessories.
ZATCA affirmed that it continues to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, to achieve and protect societal security, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities.
At the same time, ZATCA called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting it via the security reporting number (1910), email ([email protected]), or international number (009661910). Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law provisions with complete confidentiality, granting a financial reward to the reporter if the information is correct.
