Land, sea, and air customs ports recorded 1,131 seizures of prohibited items, as part of the ongoing efforts by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to enhance security and protect society from various types and forms of prohibited goods. The seized items included 118 types of narcotic substances such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, Captagon pills, and others, in addition to 402 prohibited materials. Customs ports also thwarted 2,478 cases of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 25 cases of financial amounts, and 9 types of weapons and their accessories. ZATCA affirmed that it continues to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports to achieve and protect community security, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities. At the same time, ZATCA called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting it on the security reporting number (1910), via email ([email protected]), or international number (009661910). The authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law through these channels with complete confidentiality, granting a financial reward to the reporter if the information is correct.
