His Excellency the Secretary-General affirmed that the Iranian behavior constitutes a grave violation of the principles of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and Security Council Resolution 2817, and undermines the security and freedom of navigation. He pointed out that these repeated and aggressive Iranian attacks not only obstruct all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region, but also reveal a systematic determination to entrench chaos, in a blatant challenge to international law and the international will seeking to establish peace.
He stressed in conclusion that the GCC supports all measures taken by the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to enhance their security, preserve their sovereignty, and protect their citizens and residents on their territories.
