There is no disagreement that intellectual security is one of the fundamental pillars for the stability and prosperity of societies. Security derives from a word in our Arabic language that denotes reassurance and the elimination of fear, while the same word "security" is coupled with the connotation of "intellect" to describe a state of tranquility and stability that prevails in society when the mind and thought of the individual are fortified against all deviant ideas that undermine the integrity of a sound, righteous human being.

Therefore, the simplest meaning of intellectual security is summarized in its outcome: building a fundamental pillar for the stability of societies and preserving their security and stability. It is perhaps logical for a discerning person to see the importance of intellectual security in times of war, even more so against the sowing of discord that involves spreading false news or exaggerating bad events to incite fear, undermine security, and destabilize societal cohesion. Thus, it becomes one of the most significant threats to intellectual security, indeed representing an old and new extension of psychological warfare and media disinformation tactics that serve enemies. By my life, all of this is contrary to religion, our values, and indeed our ideal Saudi character. Those who live among us and perceive with their insight before their sight our unity, our cohesion around our leaders, and the protection of our achievements in good times and bad will certainly realize that our society will not allow tampering with the security and stability of the homeland under any circumstances.

Perhaps what the relevant authorities in the state, such as the Ministry of Interior and the Presidency of State Security, emphasize about the importance of fortifying our intellectual security—by not circulating news from unofficial sources or spreading malicious rumors in all their forms—is clear evidence of the importance of citizen and resident awareness on this pure soil of everything that could aid the enemy and facilitate the penetration of our unity, God forbid.

And because discussing intellectual security, in my humble opinion, cannot be done both deeply and simply at the same time without referring to some of the lectures of His Excellency the Advisor to the Presidency of State Security, Brigadier General Engineer Bassam Attia, whose awareness lectures have become a reference on the axes of conscious citizenship and ways to confront contemporary challenges aimed at destabilizing societies. In one of the important axes of these weighty awareness lectures, he stresses that humans are the fundamental pillar of the state, and that "conscious citizenship" represents the first line of defense and the safety valve for protecting the homeland. He points out that intellectual security encompasses national security, including comprehensive dimensions such as political, economic, societal, and cybersecurity.

We are envied in our beloved Kingdom for a citizenship based on the bond between leadership and people since the era of the founding father, the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, to the flourishing era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz—may God protect him. We are envied for the blessing of security, safety, and the integrity of homelands. We are envied for a wise, balanced, cultured, aware, and ambitious young leadership represented by His Highness the Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz—may God protect him. We are envied for unity of ranks, harmony of word, love of country, and defending it as our fathers and grandfathers did, and as will continue in our children and their descendants until the Day of Judgment.
