Citizen Arrested in Jazan for Transporting Border Security Violators

Patrols of the General Directorate of Mujahideen in the Jazan region arrested a citizen for transporting in a vehicle he was driving violators of the border security system of Ethiopian nationality. They were stopped and legal procedures were taken against them. The two violators were referred to the competent authority, and the person who transported them was referred to the Public Prosecution.

The official spokesman for the General Directorate of Mujahideen confirmed that anyone who facilitates the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transports them within it, provides them shelter, or offers them any assistance or service in any form, exposes himself to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, confiscation of the means of transport and the dwelling used for shelter, in addition to defamation.

He explained that this crime is considered a major crime warranting arrest and a crime against honor and integrity, urging reporting of violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality without any liability on the informant.
