Egypt strongly condemned Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (Wadiah) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, constituting a violation of international law and a threat to the safety and security of international navigation. Egypt affirmed in a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs its complete rejection of all actions that threaten the security and stability of the region or jeopardize freedom of navigation in international waterways.

Egypt expressed its full solidarity with the Kingdom, stressing the need for an immediate halt to all actions that escalate tensions in the region, in order to preserve regional security and stability and protect the safety and security of international navigation.
