The Israeli army said on Sunday that it detected rocket launches from Iran towards the city of Aqaba in southern Jordan, warning that some projectiles may fall inside Israel.

The army said in a statement that "rocket launches from Iran towards the city of Aqaba in Jordan, near Israeli territory, were detected."

It added that some projectiles may fall inside Israel, noting the possibility of activating sirens in the southern areas.

The Israeli army did not provide further details on the number of rockets or the results of the launch, and there was no immediate comment from Iran or Jordan.
