(CNN) -- The Jordanian army announced that air defense systems intercepted and shot down three Iranian missiles that were targeting the kingdom on Tuesday.

A statement quoted a military source as saying that the interception operations did not result in any casualties or material damage.

Jordanian territory has been subjected to attacks by Iranian drones and missiles almost daily since the conflict between Iran and the United States renewed about two weeks ago.

Jordan hosts a wide deployment of US military aircraft.

Two US soldiers were killed in Jordan on Friday as a result of Iranian missile attacks targeting the kingdom.
