A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army announced that air defense systems intercepted and shot down, early Wednesday, three ballistic missiles that entered Jordanian airspace coming from Iranian territory.

The source confirmed, according to the Jordan News Agency 'Petra', that the interception and downing were carried out within the framework of the operational and defensive procedures adopted to protect the Kingdom's borders, airspace and the security of its citizens, noting that it did not result in any human casualties or material damage.

He explained that Royal Engineering Corps teams dealt with the shrapnel that fell in a number of sites according to the adopted technical and security procedures, and those sites were secured and necessary measures were taken to preserve the safety of citizens and property.

The source stressed that the Jordan Armed Forces rejects any violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty or use of its airspace in a manner that threatens its security and stability, confirming continued monitoring of Jordanian airspace and monitoring of various developments with the highest levels of readiness and preparedness.

He affirmed that the armed forces will deal with any breach or threat to the airspace according to the adopted rules of engagement, and will take all measures to protect the Kingdom's sovereignty and preserve its national security without hesitation or delay.
