(CNN)-- The Iranian army launched 6 missiles towards Jordan on Wednesday, according to the Jordanian Armed Forces, as the regional conflict expands.

The Jordanian Armed Forces stated in a statement that Jordan's air defenses 'intercepted and shot down four drones,' adding that the remaining two missiles fell in 'two remote uninhabited areas.'

The army confirmed no injuries or deaths resulted, and the operation caused no material damage.

In recent days, Tehran has escalated its attacks against three regional countries: Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain, all of which host US bases.
