The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait's strongest condemnation and denunciation of the sinful Iranian aggression with missiles and drones that targeted the territory of the State of Kuwait, today, Friday, July 17, 2026, and struck one of the power and water desalination plants.

In an official statement, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said that the attack resulted in a fire and damaged a number of power generation units, in a blatant violation of the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the State of Kuwait, and a grave breach of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.

The Ministry affirmed that the continuation of this aggressive approach constitutes a highly dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability, a blatant challenge to international legitimacy, and undermines efforts aimed at de-escalation and reaching peaceful solutions.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry stressed the inherent right of the State of Kuwait to take necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty and maintain its security and stability, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
