In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry revealed the truth of what was circulated on social media regarding the ban on vehicles with traffic violations from leaving border crossings.

The ministry clarified that the circulated posts about banning all vehicles from leaving border crossings in case of unpaid traffic violations are baseless.

The ministry stressed that the applied procedures are limited only to vehicles required to be impounded by judicial or precautionary order, and those with expired insurance documents, and do not include vehicles with traffic violations.

The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry added that it confirms that "citizens leaving through border crossings do not require paying traffic violations, but for residents, they must pay due traffic violations before leaving the country, according to the applicable procedures and regulations. The ministry calls on everyone to be accurate and not to circulate or publish any unconfirmed information, and to obtain information from official sources."

This statement came to curb rumors that cause concern among travelers. The ministry affirms its commitment to legal procedures and not exceeding them. It reminds citizens and residents of the need to comply with traffic laws to avoid any measures. Residents can pay violations through designated electronic channels. Official sources remain the only reference for correct information.
