The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior denied rumors circulating on social media about banning all vehicles from leaving border checkpoints if they have unpaid traffic fines, stressing that these reports are baseless.

The Ministry clarified that the current procedure applies only to two cases: vehicles subject to judicial or precautionary seizure, and vehicles with expired insurance documents, according to established legal procedures. It pointed out that vehicles with traffic violations are not included in these cases.

The Ministry explained that Kuwaiti citizens leaving through border crossings are not required to pay traffic fines, while residents must settle their outstanding traffic violations before leaving the country, in accordance with current regulations and procedures.

The Ministry of Interior called on everyone to verify accuracy, avoid circulating unconfirmed information, and refer to official sources for correct information.
